In the spirit of Antelope Island comes Antelope Island Rum. We know authentic rum flavor and taste come from innovating while honoring the history of rum and rum making. Firmly rooted in the tradition of the finest rums, we mash, ferment, and distill on site using only the highest quality ingredients - organic sugar cane, rich molasses, aromatic yeast, and pure waterWHERE TO FIND
Pure water. Along the Wasatch Front, a special circumstance exists where the runoff from Utah’s legendary “lake effect” snow and rainfall cannot flow to the ocean but is captured by the closed basin of the Great Salt Lake. The water flows into and is stored in the water-permeable geologic layer – the aquifer. Here and there along the Wasatch Front, the natural pressure of the aquifer creates artesian wells.
The same water that falls on Utah ski resorts as powder flows into the distillery and into Dented Brick Distillery Spirits. Easily trace the artesian well water piping throughout the distillery from the well head to the tanks, then taste the unique flavor profiles crafted from this pure mineral rich water source.
Ingredients bursting with the taste of the sun, wind, Earth, and water where they’re grown and harvested. No shortcuts. We know the superior flavor, feel, and aroma of “true craft” starts with the flavor, feel, aroma, and quality of the individual ingredients. Sweet sugarcane. Pure molasses. Aromatic yeast. Artesian water.
Antelope Island is in the Southern part of the Great Salt Lake. Artifacts discovered on the island date back to prehistoric people more than 6,000 years ago. Explored by Kit Carson and John C. Fremont in 1845, the island was named after the herds of grazing pronghorn. Today, part of the island is a 28,240-acre wildlife refuge for the American bison, antelope, and over 250 species of birds. The American bison herd is recognized as a heritage breed – one of the oldest publicly owned herds in the United States.
Artesian water, sweet sugarcane, pure molasses, aromatic yeast, and a state-of-the-art facility including custom Vendome Copper and Brassworks. Still and Spoke Industries mash cooks and fermenters create the possibility of the finest craft rum taste but not the reality. Only a true craftsman with an understanding of the heritage and art of rum, knowledge of the science and timing of the rum-making process, and patience and attention to detail makes a true craft taste a reality.
