Highlights from the Last Decade

Right out of the gate, Dented Brick® Distillery made waves. Following our grand opening in March 2016, our very first releases didn’t just show promise—they delivered award-winning performance on a national stage. Antelope Island Rum, our debut spirit, earned an impressive 91 points along with a gold medal. We followed that up with Roofrasier Vodka, which raised the bar even higher—scoring 92 points, securing another gold medal, and landing us on USA Today’s list of the 10 Best Vodka Distilleries in the country. Not a bad start. These early accolades firmly established Dented Brick as a quality-driven distillery capable of competing—and winning—across multiple spirit categories.

By 2018, the momentum was undeniable. Our rye whiskey program set a new benchmark—Hugh Moon Unaged Rye earned top honors, taking home Gold and Double Gold medals and quickly becoming our “Gold Standard.” Meanwhile, our rum program continued its winning streak, consistently bringing home Gold medals and earning a standout 92-point rating for Antelope Island Rum. Not to be outdone, Bristlecone Gin added to the accolades with a strong 87-point rating. Across the board, Dented Brick® was proving one thing loud and clear: exceptional quality isn’t a one-off—it’s our standard.

In 2019, the winning streak continued to build. Bristlecone® Gin led the charge with an outstanding 94-point rating, along with Double Gold and Gold medals—solidifying its place among top-tier craft gins. Even more impressive, all three of our core craft SKUs earned both ratings and medals that year, showcasing the consistency and quality across the entire Dented Brick® lineup.

2020 was a breakout year for our rye whiskey program. Hugh Moon’s story and his distinctly Utah-made whiskey history captured the attention of consumers and made a little history of their own. At the prestigious John Barleycorn Awards, both our Unaged Rye and Premium Rye brought home medals—further cementing our reputation for standout whiskey. Roofrasier® Vodka kept pace with a strong Silver medal performance, while Daddy Stump made his debut in style—earning a Silver for our peach-flavored rum. Another bold story, another memorable spirit, and yet another reason Dented Brick® continues to turn heads.

2021 was a banner year—and one for the record books. Dented Brick® didn’t just compete, we dominated across multiple categories and competitions. Moon’s Best Rye Whiskey led the charge, racking up an extraordinary list of accolades: multiple Gold Medals, 95-point ratings, and top honors including Rye Distillery of the Year at the New York International Spirits Competition. It continued its winning streak with Gold at the John Barleycorn Awards, Gold at the Proof Awards, and a Platinum Medal at the Las Vegas Global Spirits Awards—firmly establishing it as a world-class rye. Our Premium Vodka also stood tall, earning Double Gold and a 95-point rating from The Fifty Best, proving our excellence extends well beyond whiskey. And Bristlecone® Gin added to the celebration, taking home the Consumer’s Choice Award at the SIP Awards—showcasing its popularity with both judges and consumers alike. From platinum-level whiskey to award-winning vodka and gin, 2021 showcased the full strength of the Dented Brick® portfolio.

2022 was another powerhouse year, with Dented Brick® continuing to stack awards across every major category. Moon’s Best Rye Whiskey remained a standout, earning a Platinum Medal at the Ascot Awards along with multiple Gold Medals, reinforcing its status as a world-class rye. 2023 was nothing short of extraordinary—a year defined by innovation, depth, and a relentless stream of top-tier awards across an expanding lineup of spirits. Our rye whiskey portfolio continued to dominate. Most notably, it secured Gin Distillery of the Year at the New York International Spirits Competition—an elite recognition of craftsmanship and innovation. Innovation continued across categories. Glitter Disco-nut Rum made a splash with a Double Gold Medal and ratings over 90 points, while our Premium Rum and Craft Tequila both earned Gold Medals and strong 90+ ratings. Even our flavored expressions, like Pomegranate Lemonade Vodka, added to the medal count with impressive scores. From platinum-winning rye to category-defining gin and boundary-pushing new releases, 2023 showcased Dented Brick® Distillery at full throttle—proving that excellence isn’t just consistent, it’s constantly evolving.

2024 proved that Dented Brick® continues to deliver excellence across every category. Our Premium Vodka and Premium Gin led the way early in the year, earning strong recognition at the New York International Spirits Competition with 91- and 93-point ratings. The momentum carried into summer, where Premium Vodka secured both a Gold Medal and a 92-point rating at the Bartender Spirits Awards, reinforcing its place as a top-tier craft spirit. On the whiskey side, our barrel program continued to shine. Bottled in Bond Rye Whiskey captured Gold at the John Barleycorn Awards, while our Cabernet Barrel Finished Rye Whiskey delivered an impressive showing at the PR%F Awards—earning Gold, Silver, and a 92-point rating. From clean, award-winning vodka and gin to complex, barrel-finished rye expressions, 2024 highlights Dented Brick®’s ability to consistently produce spirits that perform at the highest level.

In 2025, we made a strategic decision to step back from the competition circuit—focusing our resources on innovation, barrel development, and crafting the next generation of standout spirits. But even with a lighter competition schedule, the awards kept coming. Our Port Finished Rye Whiskey earned a Silver Medal and an 86-point rating at the Bartender Spirits Awards, proving that our commitment to quality never takes a year off. Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for a strong return in 2027—bringing with us exciting new recipes and well-aged whiskeys that have been patiently developing character and complexity. If history is any indication, it’ll be well worth the wait.

From early medals for the core line to elite-level recognition for barrel-finished gin and rye whiskey, Dented Brick® has built a documented track record of quality across categories. For visitors discovering the brand for the first time, these results show that the spirits inside the bottle live up to the story on the label.
