Dented Brick® Straight Rye Whiskey is a true expression of craftsmanship and place. This 100% rye mash bill is aged for a minimum of 2 years in new oaks barrels where char levels vary between 2,3 and 4 to develop its robust character. It is finally proofed with pure artesian, limestone-filtered water drawn from our historic well in Salt Lake City. Every step; milling, mashing, fermenting, and distilling and barrel aging; is done in-house to ensure total control over over quality and flavor, resulting in a premium small-batch whiskey with a uniquely smooth texture and bold complexity.
Fun Fact: Our newly added Pure Rye symbol is a nod to an old historic designation.
how it's made
Our Straight Rye Whiskey begins with 100% unmalted rye, carefully milled and mashed onsite. Fermentation takes place under closely monitored conditions to develop a deep, spicy flavor foundation. Distillation occurs in small batches using traditional hybrid stills, preserving the distinct rye character before being brought to proof with our limestone-filtered artesian water, the defining ingredient that gives Dented Brick® spirits their signature smoothness.
TASTING NOTES
Aroma: A balanced bouquet of vanilla and cracked peppercorn layered with complex wood notes, sarsaparilla, and plum tart.
Palate: Surprisingly smooth for a 100% unmalted rye, revealing cinnamon, clove, pepper, caramel, brown sugar, and fresh-cut oak.
Finish: Medium length with lingering spice, smoke, and a rich, velvety texture.
