Dented Brick® Single Barrel Bottled in Bond Straight Rye Whiskey is a celebration of American whiskey tradition, crafted in accordance with the exacting standards established by the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. Unlike a traditional release created by marrying whiskey from multiple barrels, each Single Barrel release comes from one exceptional barrel—and one barrel only. Our Head Distiller selects a barrel for this designation only when its individual character, balance, and complexity distinguish it as something worthy of being bottled on its own. Once selected, the barrel is emptied, proofed to the required 100 proof, and bottled at our Salt Lake City distillery. The whiskey is proofed using water drawn from our on-site artesian well, naturally filtered through the surrounding geology before reaching the distillery. This mineral-rich water is an integral part of our whiskey-making process, helping reveal the rye’s depth, structure, and distinctive character without obscuring what made the barrel exceptional in the first place. Because every bottle in a release comes from the same individual barrel, quantities are inherently limited—and no two barrel releases will be exactly alike.

The Bottled in Bond Act of 1897
The Bottled in Bond Act of 1897 was one of the first U.S. consumer protection laws, designed to ensure whiskey quality and authenticity. To meet these uncompromising standards, our whiskey is:
- Produced by one distiller at one distillery during a single distilling season.
- Aged a minimum of four years in a federally bonded warehouse.
- Aged in barrels where char levels vary between 2, 3 , and 4.
- Bottled at exactly 100 proof (50% ABV).
Fun Fact: Our newly added Pure Rye symbol is a nod to an old historic designation.
TASTING NOTES
Aroma: Rich vanilla and toasted oak lead the nose, layered with warm cinnamon and nutmeg before opening into bright orange peel, buttery caramel, and a subtle touch of clove.
Palate: Full-bodied and expressive, with waves of vanilla, caramelized brown sugar, and vibrant citrus balanced by warming cinnamon. Toasted oak and clove build through the mid-palate, adding depth and structure without overpowering the rye’s natural spice.
Finish: Long, warming, and semi-dry. Cinnamon and black pepper linger alongside orange peel and roasted almond, followed by nutmeg and seasoned oak for a complex, gently spiced finish.

Bold, layered, and remarkably expressive, this exceptional rye is best enjoyed neat to experience the full character of the barrel, with a few drops of water to open its deeper aromas and flavors, or over a single large cube for a slower, evolving pour. However you choose to enjoy it, take your time—there is only one barrel.

This Single Barrel Bottled in Bond release, however, is different. It is simply too rare to spare.
Because the entire release comes from one exceptional barrel, every bottle sent to a competition would be one fewer bottle available to our customers. For that reason, no bottles from this barrel will be allocated for competitions or judging. Its distinction comes not from a medal, but from the judgment of our Head Distiller, who selected this individual barrel as exceptional enough to stand entirely on its own.
